Better communication is key to the success

  • Quality in communication is essential for success among all interested parties, including the client, project manager and translators. There are many factors to consider, some of which are shown below:

Where is the time zone, and what are the hours of business? If you need to reach someone involved in a project, remember to have your questions ready before they leave for the day.

If you’re running out of time close to deadline, don’t wait for a response by e-mail. Instead, pick up the phone. To avoid miscommunication, follow up with e-mail and go over the matter in discussion.

Simplicity is best. Pouring everything from your mind and transcribing it in your e-mail won’t help make a quick decision but will only confuse the purpose of the message. It’s always better to get to the point and keep your message compact.
